About Us
Loudoun County Rugby combines the rich history of two clubs. Western Loudoun Rugby Football Club was developed in 2000 for ages eleven to under nineteen years old to learn and play rugby at a competitive level and be part of one of the world’s favorite sports! Loudoun Rugby Football Club began its youth rugby program in Loudoun County in 2010, launching a High School Rugby team with the support of the Western Suburbs Men’s Club.
In 2023, the clubs decided to officially combine after many successes together both on and off the pitch. Over the past two-plus decades, both teams have placed or won championships, with the combined team bringing home many Championship titles since first combining after COVID in Fall 2020. The success is due, in no small part, to both clubs’ dedication to the growth and development of boys’ and girls’ high school and youth rugby in Virginia, while promoting an atmosphere consistent with the values of the game. Loudoun County Rugby now runs teams from 1 -12 grade in the spring and summer seasons.
A D4 men’s team was launched in 2019 to provide the opportunity for our high school boys to continue their development once they age out of the youth program. The men’s team includes former players from both Loudoun Rugby Football Club and Western Loudoun Rugby Football Club and has progressed all the way to the playoffs in its first full year of playing and now competes at the D3 level.
Per the IRS, Loudoun Rugby Football Club is a tax exempt 501c3 public charity organization, qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devices, transfers, and gifts under sections 2055, 2106, or 2522 of IRS code.
