Overview
Loudoun Rugby is a member of USA Rugby at the national level and Rugby Virginia at the state level. We are the only club in Virginia that has teams all the way from 1st grade through Men's Rugby. We generally follow USA Rugby's season, game-play, and age/grade guidance in order to provide a uniform experience that is comparable to the rest of the leagues in the United States.
Teams
Our teams are constructed according to age level and are split between tag and tackle teams.
- TAG -
Co-Ed - Ages 6-10
Younger players play tag (two-hand touch) while safely learning the fundamentals of the game before graduating to tackle.
- TACKLE -
U12 - U18
Boys and Girls Youth Tackle rugby from age groups U12 through U18, includes elementary age through high school.
Rugby Seasons
Our organization has two seasons of play - spring and summer. Our 15's spring season starts in late February and ends in May with practices twice a week and matches on Saturdays. Our 7's summer season starts in late May and ends in July with practices throughout the week and matches on weekends, culminating in a state championship tournament.
